B&Q Exterior Refurbishment, Bangor
Client Brief
Having previously worked with B&Q on a successful refurbishment of their Biggleswade store, we were contacted to carry out a similar project on their Bangor site. The client’s main objectives were to improve the durability and appearance of the store’s roof and cladding, extend the lifespan of the building’s exterior, and ensure ongoing compliance with manufacturer and safety standards.
The project required careful planning to minimise disruption to store operations, and the client wanted a solution that combined aesthetic improvements with long-term performance. Key elements of the brief included addressing existing wear and damage to the roof and cladding, ensuring effective water drainage, and applying finishes that would offer durable protection for years to come.
What We Did
Our team began with a thorough assessment of the store’s roof and cladding to identify areas requiring attention. Once the survey was complete, we carried out cladding repairs to restore structural integrity and improve the overall appearance of the exterior.
The entire roof was then recoated using Giromax RC, applied by our team of Giromax-approved operatives. This high-performance coating not only enhanced the roof’s durability and weather resistance but also provided the client with a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty, giving long-term peace of mind.
In addition to roof spraying, we replaced all roof deck tiles to ensure complete weatherproofing and cleaned all gutter valleys, improving drainage and preventing potential water ingress. Throughout the project, our team worked efficiently and safely, adhering to strict health and safety protocols while maintaining close communication with the client.
By the end of the project, the B&Q Bangor exterior had been fully revitalised. The building refurbishment improved both performance and appearance, delivered long-term protection, and ensured the store was ready for continued use with minimal ongoing maintenance.
